This lotus cylinder made of high quality glass perfectly complements petroleum and oil lamps in Victorian "Queen Anne style". This architectural and interior style enjoyed great popularity in England and America at the end of the 19th century.
The upper part, fluted on the edge, decorates the cylinder, while the lower part of the cylinder has a special function: It is designed so that in combination with the correct flat burner or the so-called Queen Anne burner, a draft is created that shapes the flame of the lamp and ensures optimal light output. This chimney effect can only be achieved if the burner and cylinder fit together.
