Crispy corn dogs with savory sausage and melted cheese in a golden corn batter. This street food classic combines hearty hot dogs with creamy cheese and is perfect as a snack, party food, or BBQ highlight.
Ingredients

4 sausages (hot dogs or Wiener sausages)

4 pieces of cheese (e.g. cheddar sticks or mozzarella)

120 g cornmeal

120 g flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 egg

250 ml milk

1 tsp sugar

1 pinch of salt

Cut sausages and cheese in half and alternately thread onto wooden skewers.
For the batter, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, egg, milk, sugar, and salt into a thick batter.
Heat oil to about 170–180 °C.
Dip the skewers fully into the batter so they are evenly coated.
Deep-fry until golden brown and crispy.
Drain on paper towels.
