Ingrédients
-
400–500 g shrimp (raw, peeled, preferably deveined)
-
3–5 garlic cloves (finely chopped or sliced)
-
50 g butter
-
1 orange (juice + zest, preferably organic)
-
2–3 tbsp whiskey (bourbon or scotch)
-
1–2 tsp honey
-
1 handful parsley (fresh, roughly chopped)
-
Salt & black pepper
-
Chili flakes (optional, but highly recommended)
-
Optional: 1 tsp soy sauce (for umami)
-
Optional: baguette / ciabatta for dipping
Préparation
Heat a cast iron pan over direct heat on the grill for 2–3 minutes until very hot.
Melt butter and sauté garlic for 10–20 seconds, but do not let it burn.
Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 1–2 minutes until they start to turn color.
Remove pan briefly from heat, add whiskey, and bring to a boil. Optionally flambé, but only if safe.
Add orange juice, orange zest, honey, optional soy sauce, and chili. Let simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
Add parsley and toss everything well. The shrimp should be glossy and coated in sauce.
Serving
Serve directly from the pan. Baguette is perfect for dipping. Optionally top with extra orange zest or a squeeze of lemon.
