Spaghetti, penne or today Kritharaki, because they go perfectly with the Greek minced pasta casserole. This recipe really spices things up with feta and Mediterranean herbs and is a great change from the classic pasta bake. We show you how to easily prepare this minced pasta bake with a Mediterranean twist in the Dutch oven.
Ingredients
- 600 g mixed minced meat
- 375 g Kritharaki noodles
- 1 l vegetable stock
- 200 g feta cheese
- 150 g crème fraîche
- 150 ml milk
- 1 can cherry tomatoes (400 g)
- 2.5 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 onions (medium)
- 30 g barbecue spice
- ½ tsp oregano
- ½ tsp thyme
- 1 tbsp olive oil
preparation
Finely chop the garlic and finely dice the onions. Mix the mince with the barbecue seasoning and knead well.
Now add a dash of olive oil to the Dutch oven, heat up and fry the mince until crumbly. Add the onions and garlic and fry until translucent. Then stir in the tomato purée and fry briefly.
Now add the tinned cherry tomatoes, crème fraîche, milk and vegetable stock and stir well. Then stir in the pasta and herbs. Simmer for a good 25 minutes with the lid on.
Then crumble 150 g feta cheese and add to the Dutch oven and stir everything well again. Cook for a further 5 minutes without the lid, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with the remaining feta before serving.
