Shipping with DHL takes an average of 1-2 working days within Germany. Deliveries abroad are usually delivered with UPS after 3-4 working days.
Please note that shipping sometimes takes a little longer over the weekend. If your shipment status is not updated after your shipping confirmation, please be patient, sometimes it takes a while for DHL to update. If a product is not to your satisfaction and you would like to contact us to resolve a possible problem or complain about the product, the best way to proceed is as follows: Always send your request by email to service@petromax.de and send us the proof of purchase, pictures or videos of the product and your full contact details. You can be sure that we will process your email promptly. If it takes a little longer, there is an increased volume of inquiries in the service area.
Please avoid writing a second e-mail about the same issue or leaving an additional message on the answering machine. This increases the volume of work in the service area. Your satisfaction is our top priority, which is why we guarantee to be there for you and your request as quickly as possible.

In general, the shipping service provider handles our parcels very carefully. Nevertheless, it can happen from time to time that a parcel arrives damaged. If goods have been damaged in your delivery or have been lost due to damage, we will of course be happy to replace them.
Please send us pictures of the box, the shipping label on the parcel and the damaged product to info@petromax.de. Your request will be processed as quickly as possible.
IMPORTANT: please do not throw away the package or product for the time being. It could be that the shipping service provider still needs the package for an internal investigation.

Is something missing from your order? For very large products (tripod, cool box, Dutch Oven) it can happen that we send goods in several shipments. Please check your order confirmation or the tracking links sent by the shipping service provider. Another parcel may already be on its way to you. Even if there is no further tracking number, this does not mean that a parcel is not still on its way, sometimes the division of the consignments and the allocation of the shipment tracking does not work completely. Please wait another 1-2 working days. If nothing has arrived, please contact our customer service at info@petromax.de with your order number and the missing product.

Since 1910, the Petromax kite brand has stood for German engineering, tradition and the highest quality. This guiding principle still accompanies us every day, especially in the development and manufacture of our products.
In our factory in Magdeburg, for example, the Petromax strong light lamps are assembled by hand from over 200 individual parts. All our products are developed in-house at our company headquarters in Germany. Our product development team of engineers and product designers designs, constructs, tests and improves new products in Magdeburg every day. When manufacturing our natural, traditional clothing fabrics in Germany, we pay close attention to animal welfare - the loden produced in Germany, for example, is guaranteed mulesing-free. A large proportion of our cooking equipment is also manufactured in Germany, for example our barbecue and fire bowls, wrought iron pans, hobo stoves and tripod rings.
In order to meet our high quality and product standards and customer expectations for cast iron, we have decided to set up our own cast iron production line in Asia. We could not offer the product quality of Petromax cast iron with production in Germany. We therefore have direct influence on the production standards and the quality and quality testing. Our cast iron products are then certified by an independent German institute so that you can always be sure of the high quality of our products.

There is no classic factory outlet. However, the Petromax World opened its doors directly at the Magdeburg site in April 2018.
All products of the traditional Petromax brand are on display here on an area of around 200m². There you can take a close look at the range, touch it and, of course, buy it.

The cast iron for our products, such as Dutch ovens, pans, loaf pans and the like, is regularly tested for food safety by an independent institute. All other products that come into contact with food are also tested regularly.

For us, a product is only good if it is durable and resistant. Nevertheless, you will enjoy your product for longer if you care for and use it correctly, as described in the instructions for use.
We also offer various accessories to make it even easier for you to clean and care for your product properly. Just take a look at our care paste for cast and wrought iron, the technical Vaseline or the cleaning polish and soft polishing cloths.

How do I use the care paste for cast and wrought iron?
After using your cast or wrought iron, clean it with clear water and dry the surface thoroughly. Then apply a thin layer of the maintenance paste to the surface, ideally while it is still warm, and spread it evenly. Store your product unsealed in a dry and well-ventilated place. It is then immediately ready for use in the fire. Subsequent rinsing of the Dutch Oven and Co. is no longer necessary, as the Petromax Care Paste consists of natural, food-safe and tasteless ingredients.
Your cast or wrought iron companion is optimally protected and preserved if you repeat the care process after each use.

Cleaning Loden: How do I care for Petromax Loden properly?
Your equipment made of Petromax Loden is absolutely easy to care for. Since Loden fabric is naturally spark-resistant and odour-inhibiting at the same time, you can wear your clothing from the Petromax Loden series during strenuous excursions or around the campfire without body odour and smoke smell soaking into the fabric.
It is sufficient to air out your Petromax Loden outside the next day so that it smells fresh again. If the clothing has become extremely wet, let it dry lying down (do not hang it up). You can leave coarse soiling (mud etc.) to dry and then remove it with a soft clothes brush.
As a rule, your Petromax Loden clothing does not need to be washed regularly. It is sufficient to wash them at long intervals with the Petromax organic hand wash detergent for loden or take it to a dry cleaner.
You can safely iron your Petromax Loden yourself, as this smoothes the wool fibers and thus supports the water and wind resistance of your clothing. Set your iron to medium temperature and smooth the surface of your clothing with low pressure. You should cover the chest and shoulder areas with logo embroidery with ironing paper.

All Petromax cast irons are already pre-baked. You do not have to burn them in before first use, we have already done that for you. Delivered ready to use, you can try them out immediately after rinsing them briefly with warm water. Please take care never to bring cast iron products that have already been baked on into contact with washing-up liquid.
However, cast iron requires some care to ensure that it lasts for a long time. If the patina starts to deteriorate or your Petromax cast iron shows rust in some places because it was exposed to too much moisture during storage, you can counteract this with simple steps. The Petromax cast iron is robust and forgives small mistakes in use. In such a case, depending on the severity of the rust, you can either simply re-grease (we recommend the Petromax Care Paste for cast and wrought iron due to its long durability ) or re-bake your cast iron. You can find out exactly how to do this in the instructions for use for Petromax cast iron in general on page 3.

We offer you a warranty period of two years from the date of purchase. If your product cannot be used properly due to material damage or manufacturing defects, you are entitled to a repair. To do this, first contact the retailer from whom you purchased the product. In the event of improper use or misuse of our products, we accept no liability and the warranty becomes null and void. We cannot offer any repairs outside of these two years.
